Digital Paralegal Services to offer virtual paralegal services to attorneys throughout the United States

There is no doubt that the economy is not as strong as it was several years ago. The professional legal community is no exception. To help address this issue, Cathy L. Ribble launched a virtual paralegal community; Digital Paralegal Services, LLC in June 2009. Ribble earned her Certified Legal Assistant title from the National Association of Legal Assistants early in her career and said that she developed this company to offer virtual paralegal services to attorneys throughout the United States. She comments, “Attorneys have been outsourcing projects for years. With all the uproar about the new economic climate caused by the recession, attorneys and clients are looking for ways to cut expenses. By engaging paralegals on a contract basis, attorneys can avoid any of their normal employee expenses.”

Throughout her 15+ years in the traditional law firm setting working as a legal professional, she acknowledged the current economic climate, which has steadily created a need and opportunity for paralegals. While there are a variety of virtual paralegal support websites, Ribble provides a service that encompasses personality, professionalism, and efficiency. Just as those who have witnessed her work on civil litigation throughout Oklahoma and Texas have seen, Ribble hopes that her professional demeanor will quickly shine through.

This undoubtedly is an exciting step for Cathy’s legal career. Not only will she get to choose the attorneys she works with, she will also get to work from home choosing her own hours and making plenty of time to play with her twin grandsons. Visit her website at http://www.digitalparalegalservices.com/ - we wish her well in her new endeavor.

TERIS Phoenix joins the blogosphere

Downtown PhoenixThis is the first post for the TERIS-Phoenix office. The Phoenix office (formerly DupLEX Legal Discovery Solutions) opened its doors in 2000 as a copy service. With longstanding ties to the valley, the owners quickly brought DupLEX to the forefront of the litigation support services industry in Phoenix, and have stayed ever since. Now, 9 years later, we have evolved with the industry and our clients to ensure we continue to offer the best resources to help law firms and corporations get things done. We will have several contributors to the blog in the coming months, all focusing on different aspects of both our local industry, and the legal community in general.

The Phoenix office is conveniently located in North-Downtown Phoenix, at 3rd Street and Virginia. We service all areas of the valley, and with the ever growing trend to ESI, we have begun to service markets nationwide as well. Electronic media can be easily and quickly transmitted, so clients now have to opportunity to rely on experienced, reliable experts from across the nation.  We hope to build on the reputation we have gained on the West Coast and by continuing to serve our clients with the highest possible quality and skill.

Here is a quick run-down of recent happenings in the Phoenix office…

At the end of 2008, DupLEX acquired most of people that were at mPAC Document Solutions, including the owner Frank Tatum. The goal was to bolster the team that was already assembled and build on our commitment to offer the best litigation support services in town. mPAC brought over not only an extended client base, but dedicated, skilled employees that have helped us ensure that we have the best people in the business at every level of service.

We have also been very active in the legal community as of late, participating in events with groups such as the MCBA (Maricopa County Bar Association), APA (Arizona Paralegal Association), ALSP (Association of Litigation Support Professionals) and AABA (Asian American Bar Association). We see the large benefit in giving back to a community that has been so good to us over the years.

Lastly, in September, we will be presenting a CLE for the MCBA on Forensic Collections and ESI. This will be one of the first CLE’s in the Phoenix market to deal specifically with the importance and need for forensically sound ESI, and clients can use it to strategize their cases. We hope to help attorneys in the valley to better understand and deal with the emergence of so many different types of discovery and ways to effectively review this data.
